A native of France, El Boy Die has embarked on an ambitious career that’s taken him throughout Europe and North America. Through his DIY approach, he’s been able to shape a distinctive and cinematic sound palette that re-imagines and re-invigorates the modern framework of psych-folk.
After self-releasing his debut album How The Way Is Long in Europe, El Boy Die ventured across the Atlantic to Montreal, where he completed his new album Black Hawk Ladies & Tambourins. The album features members of Herman Dune, Yeti Lane, Cyann & Ben, Zombie Zombie as well as Valleys, and was recorded by Orson Presence (of UK post punk legends The Monochrome Set).
Drawing inspiration from a broad range of eclectic sounds, tribal chanting and medieval ambience, his music is an emotional experience that is simultaneously eerie and comforting, mysterious and whimsical.
With his atmospheric live performances El Boy Die has already shared the stage with acts like Devendra Banhart, Tindersticks, Vivian Girls, Lightspeed Champion, Herman Dune and Julie Doiron.
